Advanced Word – Course Objectives
This hands-on, tutor-led Advanced Word – level 3 course is designed to enable the proficient user to gain extended use of of the application and knowledge of its more complex features. The day will include a brief overview of commands used on the Introduction to Word Level 1 and Intermediate Word – level 2 courses, followed by an in-depth look at templates and styles, document enhancements, reviewing changes, creating tables of contents and forms. Delegates will gain a good understanding of how to manage long documents using footnotes, comments, indexing and bookmarks.

General Review
General review of existing knowledge and commands covered in the Introduction to Word and Intermediate Word courses.
Templates and Styles
Creating, modifying and selecting templates and styles. Using Quick parts.
Outline Lists
Creating an outline list.
Document Enhancements
Bookmarks, creating footnotes and endnotes, inserting and deleting comments and notes.
Tracking Changes
Keeping a track of revisions in your work.
Table of Contents
Creating a dynamic list of headings in a document.
Further Features
Creating an Index, creating Master Documents, inserting Word fields and sorting text.
Forms
Creating, protecting and using on-line forms.
Macros
An introduction to creating macros automating frequently used functions.
Customising Word
Customising icons on the toolbar and changing Word’s default settings.
Advanced Word – Course Details
This is a one-day course running from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm. Courses run in Swansea and on-site.
Prerequisites
To gain the maximum benefit from this course, an attendee should have been on Introduction to Word and Intermediate Word courses, or have a good grasp of Word text entry, formatting and tables.
Qualification
This course covers material from the Advanced International Computer Driving Licence and the Microsoft Office Specialist Expert Word syllabus.
